Seth Custer (b. 1980) is an active composer, performer, clinician, and adjudicator, and his music is heard across the United States. He is a frequent presenter at a variety of conferences and seminars around the country, and was named the Distinguished Composer of 2010 by the Music Teachers National Association. An Assistant Professor, he is Head of the Department of Music Theory, Composition, and Technology at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where he has taught since 2009. In addition, he serves as the Program Director of the Junior Composers Institute, a composer training program that is sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs, held annually in Minneapolis on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Custer received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2009, his M.M. from Central Michigan University in 2006, and his B.M. from the University of North Dakota in 2004. He regularly receives commissions to compose works for a variety of large and chamber ensembles, recently including brass sextet, oboe/piano, wind band, saxophone quartet, youth orchestra, and flute choir, and piano.
